Committees

  • CAMPS is a membership driven organization focusing on the needs and wants of the manufacturing community in Washington State. To ensure programs, events, and initiatives are relevant, high quality, and in alignment with the mission, vision, and value proposition of CAMPS, members lead and participate on committees. All members are encouraged to participate on committees, to provide input, assist the staff in execution, and strengthen relationships within CAMPS.Membership Committee – Rick Amero, Committee Chairman
    • Purpose –To review the new member pipeline, new member sign-ups, and membership retention.   This group meets every other month and provides the motivation, member input on maintaining membership focus, acts as the catalyst for new member category focus, and evaluates the membership value messages to prospective, current, and former members.

    Program Committee – Michelle Bomberger, Mike Quinn, and Tom McLaughlin – Co-Chairs

    • Purpose – To solicit topics of interest from the members and develop program topics, arrange high quality presenters, and assist in the delivery of the various programs. There is a special emphasis to provide manufacturing topics within two categories:
      • Manufacturing Products, Processes, and Methodologies
        • Products – Nano materials and composites
        • Processes – Robotics, Smart Cells, and Flexible Manufacturing Cells
        • Methodologies – Lean, ISO, ERP, and Six Sigma
      • Business and Organizational Topics
        • Tax Update
        • Succession Planning
        • Economic Forecast

    CEO Council Forum – Randy Gardiner and Tom McLaughlin – Co-Chairs

    (formerly known as the CEO Council) – Manufacturing Members only

    • Purpose – Manufacturing leadership members who meet about 8 or 9 times a year where manufacturing ideas and views on particular issues can be exchanged and discussed, best practices are shared, and focus is on critical issues, such as workforce challenges. Company leadership networking is a primary feature of this group. A primary focus of the CEO Forum is to help improve and communicate the 21st Century “image of manufacturing” in the community.
    • Members: Any CAMPS manufacturing member executive or leadership level individual.

    Finance Committee – Jenn Lilly – Chairperson (Board Member and Treasurer)

    • Purpose – To provide Board of Directors level oversight on the financial matters of CAMPS. This includes the third party preparation of monthly financial statements, reconciliation of bank accounts, and Board of Directors reporting. This also includes review and oversight of: risk management and insurances programs, regulatory tax, business license, banking, and ensuring other reporting requirements are completed properly and timely.

    Workforce Committee – Jim Tschimperle – Chairperson

    • Purpose – To direct the interaction with the education, training, and government organizations on the needs and wants for manufacturing skills and abilities. This committee is continuously engaged with the CEO Forum to identify skills needed for companies to operate their businesses.

    CAMPS Medical Device Alliance (CMDA) – Tom Fleck, Chairman

    Medical Device Supply Chain Strategic Initiative

    • Purpose – Washington State has an emerging global medical device manufacturing supply chain sector and CAMPS members have indicated an interest to become more engaged in finding manufacturing business opportunities as a long term business or cluster diversification. This is through a strong partnership with CAMPS, Washington Biotechnical and Biomedical Association (WBBA), Washington State Department of Commerce, Life Sciences Discovery Fund, and the Bothell IPZ (Innovation Partnership Zone). The goal is “linking innovation, manufacturing, and commercialization together”
